Safety baseline (non‑exhaustive)

Laser cleaning is a controlled industrial process. Safe outcomes depend on the correct work zone setup, PPE, fume management and documented risk assessments for the specific surface and site.

Eye protection and controlled work zone

Use appropriate laser-rated eye protection for the wavelength/class in use, restrict access to the work area, and use barriers where reflections could reach bystanders. Keep signage clear and visible.

Reflections awareness and signage

Highly reflective metals can redirect energy. Adjust angles, use shielding and maintain awareness of line-of-sight hazards. Treat bright finishes, edges and curved parts as reflection risks.

Fume extraction / filtration

Coatings, oils, rust and soot can generate airborne particulates and vapours. Use appropriate extraction and filtration, and check requirements where lead paint, bitumen, or unknown coatings may be present.

Fire precautions

Remove combustible debris, keep suitable extinguishers available, and monitor heat-sensitive substrates. Where timber, insulation, adhesives or trapped contaminants are present, plan the method and test small patches first.

Training and risk assessments

Competent operation includes parameter selection, safe positioning, site controls and documentation. Risk assessments should cover substrate, coating, ventilation, nearby assets and public access.

Locally-focused custom service requirements

Local pages help customers find relevant services quickly. We cover London boroughs and key towns across Essex, Kent and East Anglia with practical examples and typical surface types in each area.

Vertical pages: marine, fabrication, property maintenance

Different industries have different substrates, access constraints and finish requirements. Vertical pages explain what’s achievable, what to avoid and how to prepare the surface for coating, bonding or refurbishment.

Case studies

We publish clear before/after and “during” examples showing substrate, contamination type, method notes and the finish achieved — useful for specifying outcomes and budgeting realistic time on site.
